Case #010910: Gaithers Plantation, Covington, GA
This is a historic plantation house and grounds privately owned by the Gaither family and now administrated by the Gaither Foundation. Historically this was a working plantation and site of Civil War battles. It is also said Confederate soldiers were hidden in the attic and basement of this house. There is also a Primitive Baptist Church on the grounds that was moved there from another location. The Church is said to be the site of a murder/suicide involving the preacher and his unfaithful wife.
CGPS members present: Kathy Porter, Ken Curley, Janice Dobbs, Laura Clayton, Ben Clayton, Jimmy Brown , Cindy Norwood, Kim Durden and Jason Baird
Equipment used: K2 meters, EMF gauges, digital audio recorders, hand held video cameras, IR DVR cameras, digital still cameras and thermometers.
The group first went to investigate the Gaither family cemetery that also has many crosses representing unmarked Confederate graves. Then the group split up into two groups. The first staying at the main house and the second investigating the church on the grounds. The group investigating the church also went into the over-seers cabin. The groups then switched locations. There were personal experiences through out the night. The initial group in the church experienced the pulpit chair vibrating when the mention of another, much later, suicide in the church parking lot was mentioned. Both groups heard footsteps in the attic of the main house when on the second floor. The K2 meters also registered unusual spikes as did the EMF gauge- also on the third floor and attic. Investigator Ken Curley also felt extremely nauseated and uncomfortable when entering the attic and could only remain there for short periods of time.
Evidence Review: The evidence revealed several EVPs, the most notable being music and singing in the church over the investigators' talking that was not audible in real time. All of the EVPs were obtained in the church including direct responses to questions. There was also an unexplainable photo showing a dark, amorphous mass on the left of the picture. Both pictures immediately before and after this shot were normal.
Client Reveal: The evidence was presented to the client, who as caretaker for many years, was not surprised to hear the EVPs and see the photo. He has heard music in the church on several occasions and of different types , from happy to dirge-like.
Conclusion: Gaithers Plantation and the church on the grounds are haunted by what seems to be intelligent entities and residual energy.

EVP's
This is probably the best EVP captured at Gaither's. This was recorded inside the church. The music and singing was not heard or noticed by any of the team members at the time.
What sounds like a growl.
Recorded in the basement of Gaither's. Civil War soldiers were known to have been hidden in the basement during the war. Cannot make out what is being said.
