Case #080710: The Rock House, Thomson, GA
This is our second visit to the Rock House following a very successful investigation there almost 1 year ago.
History: This is the oldest rock structure in Georgia. It was built by Thomas Ansley in the 1700s. The Ansleys were Quakers who settled the area of Thomson , near Augusta. The house is also connected to the family of former President Jimmy Carter whose family helped restore the building in the 1970s. The house is in need of renovation. Over the years, vandals have continued to break windows and write on walls. Just last year, there was a historical marker sign on the property. We discovered this visit, it was gone.
Claims: There have been claims of full-bodied apparitions, shadow figures, voices and being touched by unseen entities. One entity is purported to be that of a little girl.
CGPS members present: Ken Curley, Laura Clayton, Kim Durden, Jimmy Brown, David Taylor, Amanda Francis, Debbie Bird, Cindy Norwood and Jason Baird. This investigation was also conducted with a fellow Ghost Hunting Team, the Ghosts of Georgia. Their team members consisted of Ed Laughlin, Beth Peters, Christine Riley, and Larry Conley.
Equipment used: hand-held video, digital audio, digital still cameras, IR camera system, EMF guage and K2 meters.
Investigation: this structure is basically open to the elements as many windows are missing. In light of this, the teams were very aware of any possible outside contamination by vehicles and any team members that remained outside kept their voices down. The teams split up between the basement, 4 first floor rooms, and attic.
Evidence review: The evidence has revealed several EVPs- including several of a small girl, believed to go by the name of Rose or Rosemary. EVP's of this small child were also recorded on an earlier investigation. Several questions directed to the small child were directly answered back, and can be heard below. Several other EVP's were recorded on the main floor of the house, though not as many as were recorded on a previous visit.
Reveal: at the time of this writing, the reveal has not yet been presented to the client.
Conclusion: The Rock House is definately active and CGPS concludes that it is a haunted location with both intelligent and residual entities.

EVP's
This audio was recorded upstairs. The investigator's are trying to see if the spirit of a little girl, known to be in the house, can move some dolls. The first EVP is a response to the statement, "I'm game if you're game". What sounds like "uh, huh" can be heard. The investigator's then all close their eyes, and count to 5. Listen carefully. During the count from 1 to 5, you can hear a small child's voice repeating the numbers 3 and 4. None of the stuffed animals ever moved.
This audio was recorded upstairs. The investigator asks the spirit of a small child, "What was your Daddy's name? Was his name Thomas?" A response of "uh, huh" can be heard.
This audio was recorded upstairs. The name Rose, or Rosemary, and the age of 6, was picked up by one of the investigator's. Rose was asked, "Rose, are you 6 year's old? A response of "Yea" can be heard.
This audio was recorded on the main floor. Shortly after the second group of investigator's arrived for the investigation, this was recorded on the main floor of the house, as members from both teams surveyed the layout of the house. What sounds like "Hold on" can be heard.
This was recorded on the main floor. The teams had just finished their first round of investigations, and had left the house to break, except for one investigator in the next room. You can hear the shuffling of his feet. The first EVP cannot be understood, but is followed about 1 second later by what sounds like "They won't go". If anyone is able to make out the first EVP, please e-mail us with what you hear.
