"I have been an LPN for 21 years and presently work in a high school as their nurse. I grew up in upstate NY (Clintondale, a small town in the Hudson Valley) in a house built in the 1800's.  It was once a general store and post office in its life. In fact, one town person was born in my house!  The house had an exact duplicate right next to it that my dad and brothers tore down. I have only a vague memory of that house. Even as a young child I never felt like my house was "home".  As teenagers my younger brother Ken and I became aware of an unseen presence in our home. Then it got weird. The spirit seemed to focus upon Ken in a sort of "protective" way. I say this because once when our Mom was yelling at Ken, the spirit threw a video tape ( remember those?) and a golf ball at her! Then Ken thought I was outside his room one time and when he went to look, he was started to be face-to-face with who he thought was me. He yelled at me ( I was downstairs) and Mom told him I was never upstairs. Then he realized that the girl he saw had long blond hair in curls and a high-neck Victorian dress! Whoa!! I also heard her calling my dog's name from the hallway one night while I was in bed. So..... that really started my interest in the paranormal. A few years ago I began talking with friends and decided to start a group. Thus, the  Central Georgia Paranormal Society was born. Today I live in Conyers with my hubby of almost 16 years and our 12 year old son."

                                                                            Jimmy Brown, President, Photography

"I work as a Forensic Photographer with the GBI State Crime Lab Medical Examiner's Office, where I have been photographing and documenting autopsies and crime scenes for 22 years. I have been happily married for 13 years, and have 3 daughters. In my spare time, I also photograph rocket launches for a Central Florida newspaper, and have had one or more of my launch photos published in National Geographic, National Geographic's "Your Shot", Popular Photography, Aviation Week and Space Technology, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Collectspace.com, CNN, NASA's Astronomy Picture of the Day, and Florida Today. I also enjoy Airshows, collecting space memorabilia, NASCAR, and am a huge KISS fan. I have always had an interest in the paranormal, and joined CGPS to see for myself if there really was anything to any of this or not. I have been a member of CGPS for 3 years."

                                                                            Ken Curley, Tech Manager, Investigator

"I have had an interest in the paranormal from a young age.  The Unexplained is something that is endlessly fascinating to me (not only ghosts, but unexplained natural phenomena, Cryptozoology, and Fortian phenomena).  I grew up in a house built in the 1890's that had served many functions in our small town, including a general store and a post office.  I became aware of something in the house early on, and seemed to be the focus of its energy.  From that time to today I find myself drawn to old, mysterious places.  And since my teens I have been an audio nut.  I love working with sound and naturally became fascinated with Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVP), studying the pioneering work of Friedrich Jurgensen and Dr Konstantin Raudive.  I have been able to marry both of my hobbies through Central Georgia Paranormal, where I serve as the resident audio go-to guy. I believe that there is more to our world than our limited sight lets us see, and that the worst thing we can do is never ask questions."

                                                                            Ben Clayton, Equipment Tech, Investigator

                                                                            Janice Dobbs, Vice President

"I moved to the Covington area 30 years ago from Avondale Estates. I graduated from Sequoyah High School, then worked for Kroger for 20 years. Married, later divorced, then remarried in 2006 to my best friend, John. I have a son, a granddaughter, a great granddaughter, 4 step children, 6 step grand children, and 3 step great grand children. We live in Newborn, Georgia. The paranormal has always interested me. Certain family members all had psychic visions and visitations. I believe we all have guardian angels watching over us. I talk to mine when I lose things, and they show up. I enjoy being a member of CGPS. Everyone is great. I look forward to our investigations."

                                                                            Laura Clayton, Investigator

"My name is Laura Clayton. I reside in Loganville GA, with my husband and two dogs. I have two grown children in college. I am a former Respiratory Therapist and a current middle school science teacher.  I have been interested in the natural and paranormal worlds since an early age. I have never stopped asking questions and have been fortunate to have encounters that allowed me to validate my beliefs in the spiritual realm.  My lifelong quest of learning persists in my interests in science and history. I believe to find answers to questions about the paranormal, there has to be indisputable proof, requiring a scientific approach to investigating and critical evidence review.  I am particularly interested in new technologies to communicate with and document the other realm. I am very happy to be a part of the CGPS family and fortunate to have my son Ben as a member of the group."

                                                                            Kim Durden, Investigator

"My name is Kim Durden, and I live in Covington GA with my husband Billy. I have two grown sons, Kaleb and Kane, by a previous marriage. I have been a site manager for an Orthotic and Prosthetic company in Conyers, GA for the past ten years. I am originally from Buford, GA. but moved to Covington about eight years ago. I found CGPS almost one year ago when I began searching for a reputable group who shared the same interest I had in the paranormal world. At the age of thirteen I discovered that I had sensitivity to unexplained events that took place in the home where I lived. From that point on I was intrigued and curious about the paranormal world. I was attracted to CGPS because of their genuine respect and determination to be able to give the client the most objective answers to the questions they may have in a sensitive, respective way. I love the fellowship of this group, and I enjoy learning more about the unexplained paranormal for which there is a thin vale that separates our world from theirs."

                                                                            Cindy Norwood, Case Manager, Investigator

"I am the mother of 2 and grandmother to 3 beautiful grand children. During my school years, I lived in the small town of Social Circle, GA and moved to Covington about 20 years ago. When not spending time with my grand children, my hobbies are playing with graphics on the computer, making stationary for email, Scifi and learning about the paranormal. I work full time as the office manager for the local hospital's home health office.  I first became aware of the paranormal through personal experiences, (intelligent haunting's) that lasted for ten years. I tried my hand at investigating on my own during that time until I saw an interview with our President, Kathy Porter. It was a great article about CGPS, it's practices and beliefs.  I quickly learned that CGPS was formed out of the love to help those in need.  I knew I had found my home whey they accepted me into the group. My philosophy is...it's ok to not believe, it just means you haven't experienced."
